bd has provided environmental, health and disposal support for the NAVSTAR GPS program. bd provided technical inputs on Federal, State, and local environmental laws and regulations such as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Resource Conservations Recovery Act (RCRA), Environmental Community Right-To-Know Act (EPCRA), Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA), and Clean Water Act (CWA). We monitored the status of customer directed pollution prevention efforts, and conducted pollution prevention training sessions and briefings.

Additional services included environmental audits of contractor and depot facilities and review/evaluation of environmental assessment reports. We collected, calculated, analyzed and reported pollution prevention metrics and developed environmental protection, personnel protection, and disposal procedures. We produced a pollution prevention metrics table which calculates EPA-17 and Class I Ozone Depleting Chemical (ODC) usage. bd also conducted environmental regulatory research on GPS environmental/health issues.
