The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works has awarded bd Systems a contract to enhance a Project Information Website (PIW) and develop its map-based functionality 

TORRANCE, California, July 2003 - The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works has awarded bd Systems, E&IT Division a contract to enhance a Project Information Website (PIW) and develop its map-based functionality. The Website will allow Public Works staff, other County departments, and the general public to query and display all of Public Works' infrastructure projects.

The Website database integrates a number of Public Works' systems, including project planning, financial accounting, and document management into a common interface for searching and viewing information. bd Systems will extend the off-the-shelf capabilities of Internet Map Server technology to incorporate online spatial editing, high performance geocoding, and other custom features using geographic information system technologies over the web.
